NEVER OPEN A "WP" ACCOUNT

I opened an account at an alternate site that never made any real money and had a bunch of "new users" who left me high and dry.  The place never really made any money despite my efforts so I'd forget about it until I got notices.  To make the story short, in the end the place threatened to sue me for $300 on an account that was only owed $10.81 because they wanted to collect an extra $10 for closing the account.  They claimed that they relisted my items for free but when was that?  First, they said the relisted them for 14 days.  Well if a 30day/1month package is $10, wouldn't 14 days be $5?  Also, dosen't free mean, well, FREE?  I should have known better because I read somewhere that the guy who runs it is a headcase who started the site because he couldn't make it here.  Hell, I never even got paid for the last two items I sold.  If anything, I should have received a credit.

I mean I've had some evil moments with eBay's staff where I thought they were just the stupidest people on earth (or the most standoffish).  But they've never tried to strong arm me out of money - especially not outrageous collections fees. They claim they are trust-based community but so is the mafia - and that's how he basically acted (like he was a Don or something).  I say give it time.  Karma is a boomerrang.  That site failed once, it will fail again.  He'll have a bunch of angry people suing him - and not just threatening.

Neutral Feedback Debate

Am I the only one who thinks hiding the number of neutral feedbacks a person has in total is misleading?  Not every unsatisfacory transaction warrants a negative and the system is set up to try to discourgae you from leaving anything but a positive anyway.  Not revealing ALL the feedback totals seems dishonest.  If someone has a 99% rating but also 300 neutrals (for example) I might definitely think twice about buying from them.

I also think feedback should be sorted by rating type as well as by who left it (seller/buyer).  If a person has negatives/neutrals all for the same thing, shouldn't you have an easier way to find that out before you did business with them?

I wonder how some people are powersellers

I think it is a sad day when you would rather lose a customer than admit you were wrong and refund a WHOLE DOLLAR because you did not - in prinicpal - really deliever the service you agreed to.

I have not really bought on eBay like I unsed to in a long, long time - and now I remember why.  Facelessness and a quick buck are never a trade in for basic customer service.

Shoddy Customer Service

Is it me or is customer service just getting shoddier and shoddier everyday?  I recently purchased some books from two different sellers.  They both ship media mail which we all know can take forever.  Both sellers agreed to ship them faster; one by priority, the other by first class.  Both were paid on a Thursday(8/30).  Well the first class one shipped on or by Saturday and was received Tuesday.  The other was a no show everyday until I finally sent a message to the seller today (Thursday 9/6) to ask what the deal was.  This was the response:

Hello, thank you for your email.  We did receive your payment on the 30th, but please do keep in mind that Monday was a Labor Day holiday and we do not ship out from the USPS every day.   The parcel probably went out in today's shipments so you can expect it Saturday or Monday.   Let's try to keep our expectations somewhat reasonable here. Thanks ##

Now, I know not all sellers can ship everyday but I think if you agree to ship something by a faster service like priority it's implied in the intial request that the buyer wants this, oh, FAST Holiday aside, a whole week later is just not acceptable.  If you know you (apparently) only ship one day a week (and that day has past) then you should tell that person "no."  And certainly don't tell them their expectations aren't reasonable.  I mean if you ship Priority and I ask you to ship it Express Mail, obviously I don't want it shipped a week from Tuesday.   And don't give me that jazz about "we don't ship everyday."   Even with the Holiday and maybe not shipping on the weekends,  it could've been shipped on Tuesday and I would have had it today.  These days you don't even have to go to the post office to mail stuff.  They'll come to you!  Heck if it's a small enough package (and these would be) your regular letter carrier can take them.

The point is if you can't provide the service, don't accept the money.  And the kicker:  I paid extra to have this STILL not be here - and probably not even get here until Monday.  Monday would make it eleven days from the day I paid.  I believe that's called Media Mail.
