Around the Stump!

Hi Y'all,

It has been a few months since I have posted a blog.  I have had so many things happening in my life. My big brother, Jerry, passed away on July 28 after a long battle with cancer. My brothers and sisters were with him at the time and we let him know how much we loved him!  We told him to tell our Mom and Dad "hello" and our grandparents, too!

My granddaughter who has profound autism has been in the hospital twice and almost died in July when she stopped breathing with a grand mal seizure.   My daughter has made peace with her ex-husband, although it does not sit well with most of the family, however, it is her life to live.  I just hope our little grandson is happier now that Dad is in his life again.  It was a messy, horrific divorce and I sincerely hope she does not ever consider marrying this man ever again.   The man is an ego-manic as well as an emotional and physical abuser.   I pray for them on a regular basis. He is in anger management and is allowed to visit more often, yet still supervised.  He is an intelligent and well respected physician, therefore, you would think he has a few good marbles rolling around in his head.  Time will tell!

My hubby is much better now and is able to get out and about.  We bought a new Ford F-150 and he is happy to have one again.  He did not like my little sports car at all.  Hey, a Granny has to have a little fun in her 60s.  Papa likes the trucks, Cowboy Cadillac, is what he calls it.  I got to choose to the color and of course, it is RED.

I have sold a few items and I have bought many more. Especially, books as we both read constantly, mostly westerns, thrillers, and suspense.  I choked out on romances many years ago.  You can only believe so much fiction and fantasy about the love machines and the big bosom sirens in those books. Don't misunderstand me, I still like the love stuff, just in a more moderated tone!

I hope each and everyone of you are doing absolutely fab, and have become more wealthy, healthy, and wiser since my last drop in to the blog site.  Life is what you make it after everything falls to pieces, and you get a bad case of the "blues" and then, someone kind, kicks you in the butt and tells you to get 'er done, whinner!  There ain't no free lunch and there sure ain't no way we can control everything in our lives.  Sometimes, you just got to climb over the rock pile to get to the other side of the road.

Good luck on your selling lots of products, and always spread the love and kindness in your life like manna on the waters.

I am going to eat my lunch now of butterbeans, mashed potatoes, sliced turkey, and good home-made cornbread! I know, wishful thinking.  I have my Subway sandwich with all that healthy stuff in it and my glass of plain water, no flavored stuff for me that you  pay triple for which comes out of a faucet!  I got plenty of lemon or lime juice I can add to mine! Oh, well, to each his own!  Either way, enjoy what you like and what you do!

Hugs to all of you sweet folks, and y'all come back soon.  I got my other blog shown below if you care to visit and leave a comment or a vote!  God bless you all. :)

Southern Style Life

Hello, Y'all, I am proud to be here.  I hope everyone is having a great Monday morning!  I am up early because my sweet dog, Rosie,  woke me and wanted to go outside.  She will stand by the bedside and put her paw on my arm or start licking my arm for me to get up.  She is a smart girl  and a treasure.   She is part border collie and part golden retriever.  We rescued her from the pound last August.  She had been in a "no-kill" animal facility for 5 years. She was found wandering on a dirt roadway, starved, and shaggy when she was about 3 years old. She had heart worms and showed evidence of abuse, according to the kennel staff.  She had a brief home, for 6 months,  outside the kennels, however, the family returned her to them when they moved into an apartment.  She is a treasure and we love her very much.  She is an alpha dog, within time, she has learned we are the "adults" and she is "da baby dog." She is very protective of us.  She loves chasing chipmunks and squirrels, and cats.  We learned this the hard way when we took her walking w/o a leash. Never again. Now, she is in a harness when she is ouotside with us. We let her run loose in our big backyard. She loves this part. Our kids and grandchildren love her.  The feeling appears to be mutual.  She finally has her "forever" home with us.  If you are looking for a great pet, try a rescue facility.  There are a lot of sweet animals who need a good home.

Take care of yourselves, be healthy, and be safe.  Remember to share the love and kindness in your life as bread on the waters.

Hugs, GA Peach
