If YOU have been ripped off by Record Village

If you are one of the over 700 innocent ebayers who have been ripped off by this deeply dishonest and fraudulent activity, here is yet another way you can fight back.

After you have purchased your cd or record, you may receive a reply from the hypocrites at Ebay asking you to review your item. This is a golden opportunity to tell other potential buyers who may chance upon the same album, say, to tell the truth.

Just copy and paste the following message into your review:

I would dearly love to tell everyone what I think of this album. Unfortunately I never got it.
Perhaps if you ask Record Village they could tell you.

Letter I sent to Ebay

I have watched as over ONE HUNDRED negatives have rolled in on this seller in just a week. I have contacted some of the other irate customers and they agree that they can get nowhere with Ebay.
It is not enough to give us our money back. This person is making thousands of pounds by selling goods he has no intention of sending, or does not possess in the first place. He is making a mockery of Ebay rules with complete impunity.
It would improve the matter HUGELY if you would take off the feedback percentage total, so that potential customers stop falling into the trap of not reading the ACTUAL feedback on the next page.

Hundreds of people are doing this, as did I, thinking that 98 plus percent meant a good seller. But if we had read the real feedback page, we wouldn't have touched this seller with a bargepole.

I and many others will be reporting the matter to Watchdog, Trading Standards and anyone else we can think of until this vermin is deservedly banned from Ebay.

Reply to my knockers ! ! !

Unbelievably, despite my benevolent attempts to warn other Ebayers about a disastrous seller, I am getting comments from people about my blogs that are completely missing the point.

Bless. They don't understand.

I am not making any money out of this, but I am still getting people saying that I should have checked the feedback before I bought, and, unbelievably, that I am selling something which I do not have ! Can you believe that ?

The fact that over 500 people have posted a negative in recent times shows that buyers are looking at the good percentage of Record Village and not reading the feedback.

It is a common mistake and I don't see why I or anyone else should be blamed for making it.

My only motivation for doing this at all was to stop people getting ripped off by Record Village and the fact that I have had these negative comments just tells me that the sender needs to get a life. They are not concerned about the millions of people who could get ripped off, but that I have made mistakes as a relative learner on Ebay.

What then if I was a newbie like a lot of these buyers are  ?

It seems to me that they need to concentrate their venom on someone who has intentionally done something wrong and not someone who's motives are good.

Nuff said.

Over ONE HUNDRED negatives in one week

This has got to be a record !

View my item above and then check out the feedback on Record Village.

I started a tiny campaign only last Saturday to try and get Ebay to act and by today, Saturday 1st march, the negatives have gone up from 416 to 538, and rising.

If you are thinking of buying a Cd or other type of album, you need to check this out quick.

Put a watch on my item. 140210714046

Hi,

By putting a watch on my item and checking back you are helping me by letting me know how many people are actively involved in the case.

As well as using the blogs, I may also update the details on the listing itself, so it is important that you are able to find it easily.

If you haven't already done this, please do as soon as you get chance.

Create your own listing.

As you may have already read, it is very difficult to cover every potential buyer that is going to be searching on Ebay.

For example, if you type in Girls aloud you will probably find that my listing is fairly well down the page and may not be noticed by as many people as I would like.

I am not an expert Ebayer and I do not know how to get my search results higher up the page, but I am learning all the time and can work out ways around these problems.

What I would like everybody to do is to copy what I have done myself, using my ad as a rough template, but change the group name to something like Madonna, Led Zepellin, The Police, and so on.

Ideally you can choose something that he is already advertising if you want, so that as his listing comes up, yours also comes up close by on the page.

Be careful not to libel the seller, but just post the facts as I have done. For instance, it is a fact that his feedback is now over 500, but it may not be a fact that he is a sheep shagger. Stick to the facts and cover yourself.

When choosing a picture I have also been careful not to suggest outright that he is the monkey on the first page. You and I know the truth but actually saying it can be construed as libellous or defamation of character.

I hope that everybody who has contacted me will be prepared also to act and create their own listings. The more of us who do, the more people are likely to spot the warnings and buy from reputable sellers instead.

If you need help with this please do contact me.

Thanks.

Have I got your email address ?

If you are part of our growing team, please make sure I've got your direct email address.

Trying to contact lots of people via Ebay's email system is a nightmare. First of all you can only contact about half a dozen people a day due to Ebay rules and secondly you have to provide a different security number for each one.

It takes ages and I hate it. Plus it is very inefficient.

I am not a business I am simply an individual who wants to stop other Ebayers getting ripped off, so please let me have your proper email address, if you have one. It would be a big help.

A big thank you to those of you who have trusted me with theirs already.

Footnote : Under no circumstances would I use your details for anything other than our mission regarding Record Village and will endeavour to protect your privacy in any dealings with Ebay, Paypal, Watchdog, Trading Standards, etc.

Latest news on Record so called Village

Hi everybody !

Thanks to all of you who have joined me in our mission to get justice for those who have been ripped off by Record Village.

Over the last week I have been working behind the scenes, not only continually reporting the matter to Ebay, but also to work out steps that we can all take to bring this vermin to his knees.

If you have been keeping up with my Ebay listing, the bad feedback has risen by well over a hundred in just the last week, so it is imperitive that we do what we can to stop other Ebayers from being sucked in.

At the moment I have tweaked my listing to come up high in searches, but as an individual it is very hard to cover every musical name and genre, so I may be asking all of you to create your own listings to reflect this.

Upto now this has cost me less than a couple of quid, so it's well worth it.

If you have any ideas of your own please contact me or put it on your Ebay page so that we can all see.

Kind regards,

Ian.
