I have always been curious about what other people have as Christmas traditions. When I was a child, I thought everyone did everything the way we did.

Santa Claus was a really big thing. My brothers and myself were beside ourselves on Christmas morning. All of our toys from Santa Claus were under the tree - grouped for each of us. Not wrapped. What fun we had! Of Course, we would then remember our stockings and dumped them all over the floor. They always included fruit, candy and silly little things.

To prolong the joy of Christmas, we were not allowed to open any presents until after breakfast. And, we had to eat it all! It was always a very fancy breakfast.

Always, my Dad's designated job was to hand out the presents. One to each person. We all watched as each opened theirs. Then another round. When present opening was over we were in a sea of paper and ribbons. Scared to move less we step on something.

In my husbands house, they always opened on Christmas, then had to put everything up in their rooms. Neat and clean. He liked my family tradition so much, that this became the tradition as my children grew up.
