Buso-sanseong Mountain Fortress was one of the most important Baekje mountain fortress when Sabi, now Buyeo, was the capital of Baekje. Like many Baekje mountain fortresses, this one was a combination of the two types of mountain fortress: those surrounding the peak and those built around the valley. The fortress wall was built up with stone and earth, and the bottom of the exterior of the fortress wall was lined with stones three to five rows high. There are gate sites in the fortress wall, site of a Buddhist temple, a pit house and military provisions storages inside the fortress. Metal relics, potteries and tiles were retrieved from these sites. |
