Our Trip for Craftsmanship

We traveled to Maine to collect all the whirly gigs our friend, a retired Maine Lobster Boat Builder & Fisherman has created. The ride up there was the beautiful Maine seacoast I had imagine. When we pulled into town which also had that old world seacoast town feel, I thought how many people would really enjoy having these crafts made available to them. Our friend and his wife spend their spare time making the whirly gigs from solid pine, and paint them carefully through out the winter.  Actually she makes the Sails and he makes the whirly. I have seen these whirly in action and they are a wonderful addition to our yard.  It’s great to watch the sail boats glide as the wind catches them. Our friend continues to make his whirly’s and has expanded his craftsmanship to include one of a kind Clam Hod wooden baskets & miniature lobster boat traps. I guess he has never gotten the ocean out of his system and probably never will.
