I am trying to figure out why my rating on shipping is hovering just above four stars.

I dont upcharge the shipping.  I dont add handling fees.  I weigh the item and post what USPS says that the item should ship at.

Granted it varies, depending on the location of the winning bidder, and there is no way for me to know where it will be shipping when I list the item.

A few times I have even lost money on the postage when the item sold for just 99cents.

I guess you cant make everyone happy, and possible those that are giving a lower rating on the shipping haven't shipped anything in a while and are not aware of what shipping cost can be today.

Oh well, we will just keep plugging along.

It was awesome to come home and find an email from one of the Officers that I ship to in Iraq telling me "It was great to come back in to camp and find boxes from you with everything that we needed."

That is what this is all about, and I am so glad that it is working out so that we can get shipments moving and filling requests.

We are now working on getting fly strips to a unit of Marines who are located in the mountains of Afghanistan.  They say the flies are horrible and when they hang a strip up in one of their living spaces, it fills up in no time with flies.  Yuk !!  I just cant imagine what that must be like for them to live in those conditions.

Most of the troops we support are in the Al Anbar Province near Ramadi, Hit and Al Asad.

I have more blankets and pillows packed to be shipped to the combat hospital in Afghanistan.

I made the first shipment of boxes yesterday with postage costs covered by the sale of items in my auctions.  It was nice to move those boxes out of my house and know that they are on their way !!!   I shipped over 1000 pencils to be handed out to the children in Iraq, and several carepackages for troops who do not receive help from home.  Thank you to those that bidded on my auctions even though I had zero feedback.  I really appreciate it !!! 

More items will be added in the next day or two.  Lots of good stuff, some new, some as new, but all in great condition.
