Liz Duplaa was born and raised in a small town called Teófilo Otoni, in the Southeast part of Brazil, in the State of Minas Gerais. Liz’s first memories are playing in her parent’s shoes boutique with her 6 siblings. The family shoes boutique was known for their impeccable taste in shoes, always introducing the latest European styles.  In order to keep up with ever changing fashion industry, Liz father travelled abroad often to research the new fashion trends in Europe.  Liz lost her father at the age of seven years old, but her mother kept the family shoes boutique open and raised her 7 children with the profits from her successful business.

 Liz Duplaa’s passion for design was inherited by her father and today Liz Duplaa creates her own designs, keeping the memories of her childhood in the details of every new pair of shoes. When Liz thinks about shoes, she thinks about the European styles her father used to sell in the 60’s and 70’s: elegant high heels designs of high quality materials and craftsmanship, offering a sense of style and class to a sophisticated and fashion conscious clientele. Liz has now expanded her business into the jewelry realm. Being raised in the Southeast region of Brazil Liz was close to the largest gemstone mines in the country. Liz Duplaa jewelry pieces are as creative as her shoes designs. Her collection offers intricate designs in sterling silver, or 18K gold, with natural gemstones, all mined in Brazil. Her pieces are surprisingly refreshing and of impeccable taste, while maintaining her originality and individuality in every design.

Liz Duplaa is  licensed by the IBAMA, Brazil's environmental law enforcement agency, and her shoes are approved for exportation.
