Catching up 2

Little did I know when writing yesterdays blog about our vet, that this very special young lady  had been tragically killed in a train crash in Sardinia - what more is there to say...

Catching up

Just deleted the blog so will have to start again....I'm having a  break from packing mincement into jars for Christmas, this is a new one made with beer from our local brewery and has matured for 4 weeks and is now packed into jars and small sample jars that will be sent to our tasting testers. it is really loveley and dark.  The elderflowers are still around and the prep area has the strong aroma of elderflower cordial.  The dogs and foals are fed up with the bad weather and the hay that was cut last week is still laying on the ground. One of the foals had a bit of a bad start as he seemed to be blind in one eye and one front leg was slightly crooked so the farrier built up one side of the hoof and hopefully it will striaghten and after treating the eye he can snow seet, but it has a 'blotch' on it.    Well the sun is out now the rain has stopped so I will get on with finishing the mustards, perfecting a chocolate loaf cake. labelling the chutneys and then having a cup of tea... bye for now
