The first and most important aspect to consider is to which site you should link your ad or service to. In my case I look at how many back links my target site has. I want to join a good publicity campain to a web site or sites that has many other sites as possibe linking to it. That makes it a strong proposition. You can find how many links there are by going to the site and right clicking on the home page and finding the page info menu and opening the back links option. If there are many backlinks you have a site that is already primed in the google world to be highly rated and therfore ready to be exploited for search engine optomisation. Join this site in any way you can if only to get your name mentioned. The more times you get a mention on these sites the higher your own site or name will rank in google. Check out 2 Towns Over on www.cyqo.com/2townsover and look at the back links. Then look at www.cyqo.com home page back links. There are many. Remember this. Any named exposure is good for you no matter where it comes from. Be adventurous here. find a good prospect site and find a way on to it. Get exposed today. Talented heavy metal songwriters and their talent at self publicity and promotion. These talents, self taught through trial and error and general mucking about on the google searches threw up a few key elements and mostly low cost solutions. Using google ads that wont get clicked, cheap alternative search engines that do get clicked, blogging, article writing, ebay it self, contests, peer group communities. All in all to get the boys top voted best band 0f 2007 and a shed load of free publicity 20 pounds. I will explain in later blogs how some of this works so subscribe now and receive regular updates.
