BACK TO THE DALES !

BACK TO THE DALES ! It was just a very quick one day visit to the dales this weekend. Tennant's of Leyburn were holding a decorative sale last Saterday, and I had a small Scandanavian vase entered. I managed to grab a few words with another member of the BBC antiques Roadshow team that I know. It was Adam Schoon , pictured on my left in the photo. Adam, is senior valuer and head of catalogue sales at Tennants. He catalogues and oversees the sales of European and Continental ceramics, glass, works of art and statuary ! I have to say , having had the privilage of knowing him for some time, he is a splendid person. He always has time for a word , and in this occasion a photograph ! As you will realise he is a very handy person to know , and has a vast experiance in antiques . Adam was also a consultant of the long running BBC show, 'going for a song'

Next week I am off south, this time to the beautiful city of Durham, where , just outside there, I am going to a 1700 item sale . I know for a fact I will be bidding on some beautiful Maling as the sale is run by another old friend Jim Railton. Jim is an authority on Maling , and in his auctions he seems to be able to source Maling items that are very rare !

I have to say I am looking forward to Durham, its such a beautiful place. No wonder there are songs about it !
