Most Recent Posts BiddingPosted 05-Feb-08 13:16:08 GMT I looked up a cheap laptop for my sister the other day, as I wanted to make a surprise present on her birthday - I saw this laptop which I liked and bid on it - then finally I won the item. When it came to paying for the item the seller send me a total which he included VAT for the item and VAT for the postage as well as an administrative charge in case I decide to collect the item and skip the postage. I contacted the seller to ask further details and to make sure that what I was reading wasn't just me - and he confirmed that those are the charges - as result I informed him that I wish not to purchase the item as he was in breach of the ebay agreement - plus he omitted to disclose those further charges at the time of bidding - well as result the buyer has now began a dispute against me requesting that I pay for the item - still on the items that I won it is marked the payment without any VAT. I sincerely hope that ebay will sort this highway robbery charges under the VAT excuse and seller must understand that if they wish to sell a product then they must include the VAT in the actual price - it's very simple. Also I believe that anyone who has a hidden agenda obviously forfeits their rights - and ebay should look at this more closely. |
